The two teams have achieved merit until the final, as the bergamasas have eliminated Cagliari, Juventus and Fiorentina, while Lazio has taken out the competition Novara, Inter and Milan. Atalanta is doing a spectacular season and except for the Cup final, has almost secured a place in the Europa League and is playing for a place in the Champions League area for the upcoming edition.
On the other hand, Lazio has complicated the way to the Europa League and looks at the Cup of Italy as a window to take part in European competitions next season and not to "throw into the basket" this season.
