Mkhitaryan remains outside the Europa League final for security reasons

Already official, Henrikh Mkhitaryan will not travel with Arsenal team to Azerbaijan's Baku for the Europa League final that will be played on May 29th. The London club, through a press release, has stated that the Armenian striker, for security reasons, will not be present in this final.

The clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia, due to the Nagorno-Karabag war, have caused the London club to make the decision to leave Mkhitaryan in London, as it is not guaranteed security in the Azerbaijani capital by "gunners". Mkhitaryan has been active in 10 Europa League matches this season, and made an important contribution for Arsenal to reach the final of this tournament.

His lack will be a blow to coach Unai Emery, who believed in this striker during all the matches with the direct elimination of the Europa League. Mkhitaryan himself expressed his regret for not being in the competition finale, through a posting on social networks.

"Because of the current situation we made a difficult decision, so I do not travel with the team for the Europa League final. It's a game that we do not play football often and I must admit that it hurts to lose. Anyway, I will strongly support the team to bring the trophy home, "Mkhitaryan wrote in his post.
